Well, Sugar Bear did go up against a nemesis (for a brief while) on his cereal commercials by the name of "Blob!" Close enough (c.f. Steve McQueen's first starring role)
I loved Sugar Bear's non-chalant Bing Crosby cool. I loved his cartoons on the short-lived Saturday Morning cartoon show LINUS THE LION-HEARTED. I never ate his cereal. I was more of a Trix guy.

This cereal box back-cover comes from a recently purchased box of GOLDEN CRISP (namby pamby types had to re-name the stuff after nutritionist nazis got all exercised in the early 70's over it's sugar content.... ever read Calvin & Hobbes, and Calvin's Saturday morning ritual of eating his SUGAR BOMBS?).
